Experience with Horses
I have 10 years experience riding at a school, riding all different types of horses from stubborn old cobs to racehorses with enough spirit and energy to power a house! I have previously worked at popular eventing yards looking after numerous horses where I learnt to muck and groom to a show yard standard, I also have a little experience backing young horses
Key Skills
I am very happy and capable to work alone or with other people. I have experience plaiting and can do show turnout. I have handled stallions and mares as well as riding them and schooling young horses. I can efficiently muck out to a high standard.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
Just spending time and learning to understand different horses is probably my favourite thing, it’s very rewarding once you feel the horse trusts you especially when working/ backing younger horses.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
Everything! with the equine world I believe that you can never stop learning so I know I still have plenty to learn. if I had to say something specific it would be learning more on the theory side of behavioural issues.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am incredibly hard working and have a huge passion for horses so I will be responsible and reliable. I have plenty of experience and am patient and kind with horses as well as confident and positive.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
More experience, The more work and time spent with horses is key to becoming a better equestrian so being in a new yard with new people I’m sure would teach me a lot.
• Do you need accommodation?
