Experience with Horses
Having ridden from the age of 7 I started working with horses when I was 15 in Cape Town South Africa where I taught children and took tourists on beach rides.
I came to the UK in 2003 and started off as a groom. I quickly progressed to head girl and then moved onto becoming yard manager and also having my own livery yard.
I have mostly been involved in dressage but am equally experienced in other disciplines.
I have had my own horses and backed both both of them myself.
Key Skills
I am happy working alone or in a team. I enjoy training younger grooms on how horses should be cared for correctly. I am physically fit and very strong foe a woman so am confident with stallions and big horses. My knowledge on feeding horses is extremely good as well as supplements and veterinary care.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
Being outside and caring for an animals is something I have craved my whole life. Working with horses is in my blood and gives me immense joy.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
My sitting trot 😉
I am keen to learn more about the breeding of horses as that is one thing I have not done a huge amount of.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am an extremely hard worker and always do my job to the best of my ability. The horses I care for are always treated as my own. I’m an excellent time keeper, bubbly and friendly and well spoken and well dressed.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I would like to get my 7.5t licence and am especially interested in Western riding but equally interested in other disciplines
• Do you need accommodation?
Currently yes I do for myself and my partner but going forward we would like to find our own place.
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
I have two well behaved French Bulldogs and a 5 month old boxer puppy that are my kids and come everywhere with me. They have grown up around horses and are very mannered and friendly.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
No apart from my partner and two step daughters that we have at the weekends.
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of.
No
