Experience with Horses
I have completed my level 3 in Equine care and management at Plumpton college, during this time I completed work experience at three different yards. My experience includes working with rescue horses and ponies, working with Shetlands to foals, Shires and stallions. I am keen to build on this experience and gain further knowledge through a carer with equines.
I have also completed my Riding and Road Safety certificate.
i also have previous working experience working for a competitive dressage yard working for Dane Rawlins. I worked on this yard for 2 years going to shows as a groom.
Key Skills
I have experience in and am able to work alone, work with others, clip, plait, turn out for shows, handle stallions, handle/ride young horses, muck out, feed, turn out, general health checks, keep up to date paperwork, communicate effectively with management and customers.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• I most enjoy working with horses because I feel it is what I am good at and what comes naturally to me.
• I would like to gain more experience in the equine industry.
• I am keen and readty to work from the bottom, learning from those around me and hopefully share my experience with others.
Requirements
• Accommodation preferred as I am still working towards a drivers licence. Can travel on public transport from Newhaven.
