Experience with Horses
Head Groom – Hunt/livery/Breaking yard.
- Responsible for day to day running of yard. Organising other members of staff, liaising with farriers and vets.
- Day to day care of horses in our care. Spotting illness, equine first aid, ensuring safety of equines, general yard chores.
- Exercising horses to a high standard. Including hunter/ P2P horse fitness, schooling on the flat and over jumps, schooling young horses, exercising breakers, competing, hunting young horses.

Strengths and Weaknesses
I enjoy the day to day challenge of whatever I’m faced with. Everyday is different even when in a routine, so the ability to adapt to the day in hand and resolve any issues.
I would love to improve my knowledge further. Getting experience in different disciplines as well as furthering my skills in the disciplines I am already familiar in.
I am always willing to learn and do not shy away from hard work. I’d rather there be a lot to do in a day than not enough as it keeps you busy and always thinking.
Requirements
I would like a hunting/ point to point/ eventing yard ideally but always open to other yards. The opportunity to progress within the yard is always a bonus.
Accommodation would be needed if not local to Cullompton/ Devon or if the job prefers it.
I currently have no animals of my own, however the opportunity for a horse or a dog to come later down the line would not be ruled out if it suited the employer.
I have no holidays booked and rarely actually go away properly!
