Job Description
We are looking to recruit an Assistant Stud Groom to join our small friendly team. The applicant should have good horsemanship skills having previously spent a significant amount of time working with mares, foals, weanlings and yearlings on a Thoroughbred Stud Farm.
The successful applicant will be involved with the day-to-day management of the stud and its small team. Duties will cover all aspects of the work of which the applicant would be familiar but in particular EXPERIENCE of FOALING is ESSENTIAL. The job will also involve sales prep for yearlings and foals.
Enthusiasm, attention to detail and high standards of workmanship is required as well as an ability to work as part of a team. The good part is that we have a machine to help with the mucking out thus taking a lot of the agro out of the job.
Previous experience of handling staff and running a yard is helpful for obvious reasons as the applicant will need to be able to run things in the absence of the Stud Groom.  Applicant must be able to drive and have a clean licence and also be able to drive a small horsebox and a tractor.
Competitive salary and large 3 bedroom family house with small garden and garage available for the right candidate.
Immediate start if possible.  All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.
