This is a great opportunity for someone enthusiastic about their flatwork and wanting to develop as a Dressage rider, but happy to be on a quieter yard in a family atmosphere.
Based amongst 23 acres of the finest Kent countryside, (but on the Surrey border and close to shops), is the yard of a retired Dressage Rider who needs someone to care for her beloved yard and horses whilst she recovers from major surgery until things return to a ‘new normal’. A caring, competent and reliable person is a must.
All the usual skills are required to a high level of horse, stable and yard management. You must be able to spot issues quickly and handle them professionally, obviously managing the horses to avoid them in the first instance where possible.
Sole-charge experience is essential, but you must be willing to work ‘with’ the owners when they are around, as they too have lots of relevant experience and opinions. This is a role for someone capable of stepping up but humble enough to know when to step back too, and listen and learn!
Hacking is available on the property, but not outside the yard, but you could box up to hacking. Yard has great facilities: indoor stables/ 60×20 outdoor arena/horse walker, but turnout in the winter is in purpose-built, safe Winter pens.
The available accommodation is a large flat on site with an open-plan living area, a separate bedroom, and a bathroom. This is a single-storey adjoining the stables with sitting-out areas for fine weather. NB: The Flat not suitable for children.
Partners are very welcome, but they must have their own career as this is a job for one person.
