Experienced Young Horse Trainer

We are seeking an experienced Young Horse Trainer to join our professional dressage and young horse development yard in Hampshire.

This is a training-focused role, created following the departure of a highly valued team member who is returning abroad later in the year. With the right experience, the position does not involve daily general yard duties and is centred on full-time training and production of young horses.

The role includes starting young horses under saddle, progressive schooling and production, and supporting the long-term development of horses for competition and sale. The successful candidate will work within Anmore’s structured training programme, maintaining the highest standards of horse welfare and safety, and communicating horse progress clearly with management.

The role also includes assisting with competition preparation where required and supporting apprentices and junior staff through coaching and mentoring.

This position is suited to a calm, consistent and welfare-led trainer who enjoys working within a professional, well-run environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience starting and producing young horses

  • Strong, correct riding and training foundation

  • Calm, consistent and welfare-led approach

  • Ability to assess individual horse temperament and adapt training accordingly

  • Experience working within a professional yard environment

  • Clear communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

  • Reliable, professional and organised

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Professional references required
