Assistant Groom Required
Location: Near Cirencester, Gloucestershire
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Groom to join our friendly and professional eventing team based near Cirencester. We have a fantastic string of horses ranging from talented 3-year-olds through to 5★ event horses, offering an exceptional opportunity for someone passionate about elite horse care and high-performance sport.
Role Overview
This is a hands-on position supporting our head girl with the day-to-day running of the yard and maintaining the highest standards of horse welfare, organisation, and presentation. The successful candidate will become part of a small, dedicated team working with horses at every stage of their development, from youngstock to top-level competition horses.
All general yard duties are included.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the Head Girl with the daily care and management of horses
- Mucking out, turnout, grooming, tacking up, feeding, and general yard duties
- Preparing horses for training, competitions, and travel
- Maintaining excellent yard organisation, cleanliness, and presentation
- Supporting riders and ensuring horses receive the highest standard of care
- Working efficiently within a small team while also being confident working independently
Ideal Candidate
- Confident handling fit competition horses and young horses
- Reliable, hardworking, and proactive with a positive attitude
- High attention to detail and pride in maintaining a top-class yard
- Passionate about horse welfare and professional standards
- Able to work well as part of a team and take initiative when required
- Previous yard experience preferred
