Groom (fixed term- 6/7 months)

Dedicated to providing a 6-star quality private concierge service to our exclusive clients. Situated in our client’s Private Estate in Newmarket, we ensure that the properties and stables we maintain are presented to the highest standard possible. This is an exciting role for an experienced live in Groom on a fixed term basis for a 6/7 month contract who is looking for a new challenge, wants to join a fast paced and high performing team renowned for their approach and delivery of unparalleled service.  We are looking for an experienced Groom to undertake the following duties on a day to day basis:

Responsibilities will include:

Morning duties:

Feed all horses

Rug up horses and turnout in paddocks

Clean out stables and barn

Set stables for evening

Afternoon duties:

Make evening feeds

Check horses and bring in from paddocks

Remove rugs

Feed and hay

7 Mares:

Court barn

Foaling unit

Stable at night turnout day time

Weather permitted

Yearlings Colts 15:​

Middle of Track barn

Turnout with rugs

Weather permitting

Yearling Colts 5:

Stable at night turnout day with rugs

Weanlings 31:

Stable at night turnout day with rugs

Minimum Requirements

The successful Groom will have previous experience working with horses, there is no riding required however, must be competent in all areas of horse care. You will need to be able to cope under pressure, have strong communication skills and have a keen interest in horses.

Accommodation details

This is a live in position

This role would be workings on a rota – 

Mornings – 07.30am- 12.30pm

Afternoons – 14.00pm – 16.30pm

1 day off a week.
