I am 24 years old living in Gloucestershire looking for full time work in a permanent position. I have always loved horses and treat them all as if they are my own and keep care standards high. I used to ride when I was younger (10-14 years old) I am not the most experinced rider as I only started learning to ride again in Oct 2023 and hadn’t been previously taught the correct way.
I am hardworking and punctual. I started working at a yard in October 2023 therefore have 7 months of valuable experience. Working in all weathers and conditions and with a variety of different horses, ponies and their temperments.
My current job includes, bringing in, preparing feeds, grooming, tacking up, mucking out, day beds and turning out as well as other yard duties that come with the job. I have experince with handling a mare and foal and horses that show agression due to ulcers. I am observent when horses are unwell by noticing changes in their body condition and behaviour and will notify the yard manager of any concerns. I can provide current references from current staff and liveries. I have given horses medication via syringes and held nervous horses/ponies for the farrier, vet and dentist.
My job title is currently Working Pupil and I am hoping to pass my BHS Stage 1 exam in July and would like to seek a new yard to work at once I have passed my exam.
