Eventing & Hunt Groom
5* Event Groom Yard Manager Experienced with Eventing, Racing and Hunting. Category C driving license.
Experienced head groom, very comfortable taking sole charge but also with organising a team.
The horses are always my number one priority when running the yard, always operating in an effective, efficient and tidy manner.
Having groomed for competitors at 5* events on numerous occasions, my plaiting, clipping and trimming is carried out to an exceptional standard, and I take great pride in how horses in my care are turned out.
I have a huge passion for eventing and thoroughly enjoy grooming at all levels; whether it be the local BE90 or Badminton. I have experience in looking after multiple riders at a single event, each with several horses entered.
I have also worked on a pre-training and breaking yard – a wonderful opportunity to broaden my skills working with young horses. The nature of this role also enabled me to develop my experience dealing with injuries that are uncommon in competition horses, which gives me the confidence to assess and care for horses appropriately.
For the last 4 years I have been working on private family hunting yards in a yard manager and rider role. This is a role that I have thoroughly enjoyed and would love to find something similar. Unfortunately my current role is being made redundant due to the family no longer having hunters.
