Experience with Horses
I have owned horses all my life (my mother bought me a pony when she found out she was pregnant with me). I have competed in dressage and a few showjumping. – Age 12 – 16 years.
while taking a break in competing myself I was a groom for a dressage rider, as well as a show jumper who has now gone to hunting. After this I was a secondary school teaching assistant for 1.5 years. I finished working in the secondary school to become a polo groom, which is my current working situation. I am looking for another job within the equine world to further my knowledge and abilities.
I am currently working solo in Cirencester managing the care and exercise of a string of 12 horses for a professional polo player and freelancing around the area on my day off.
Key Skills
I believe that I am particularly good at: working alone, working with/as a team, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, time management, managing a team underneath me, respectfully handling difficult situations with clients/owners. I do have other qualifications outside of the equine world. – I am happy to discuss these with any potential employer.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What I enjoy the most about working with horses is: building a bond with the horses, getting know them, help them overcome their issues (if they have any), watching them grow and mature into the majestic creatures they are.
• I believe that everyday is a learning curve with horses, they always like to surprise us, so we can always learn from them.
• I believe I am a good candidate for the job because… my love for horses means that the horses I care for get the best and my undivided attention. I will always ensure the care for every horse like they’re my own! Taking time out to get to know them and listen to them when they let us know they’re unhappy/uncomfortable and working them to ensure they’re as happy as can be!
Requirements
• Accommodation would be needed if the yard is further than 20 miles from NG24.
• I have a 9 month old puppy. It is essential that she (Narla) is able to come with me to work or live in the provided accommodation. I do also have a 14.1 Arab mare that I would like to bring with me; however, isn’t a deal breaker if she (Neela) can’t.
• The only on going commitments I have are as below:

• A minimum of 29 days a year holiday. Plus a minimum of 7 days off during the Christmas season.
