Experience with horses

I am an experienced and highly dedicated equine professional with a broad background across yard management, horse care, riding, coaching and competition environments.

Most recently, I worked as Yard Manager at a Grand Prix dressage yard, taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of a professional yard and maintaining a consistently high standard of horse care. I am confident managing horses with individual requirements, organising daily yard routines, coordinating staff and working alongside vets, farriers and other equine professionals.

I hold a Level 3 qualification in Equine Care & Management and have completed BHS Stages 1–4. I am an experienced rider and coach, comfortable riding a variety of horses and supporting riders of different ages and abilities. I grew up through the Pony Club, competing successfully as part of the Poole & District branch, and also have around 15 years’ experience in mounted games.

My wider experience includes equine welfare and rehabilitation, having previously worked in management within an animal rescue environment where I was involved in the care, assessment and rehabilitation of horses alongside vets and other professionals. I also have experience in groundwork, handling, schooling and exercising horses, and I have a particular interest in equine rehabilitation, therapy and performance.

Alongside my practical equine experience, I bring strong skills in staff management, organisation, communication, health & safety, administration and working with clients. I am reliable, hardworking and confident taking responsibility, while remaining very hands-on and happiest working directly with horses.

I am based near Stratford-upon-Avon and am particularly interested in roles involving yard management, riding, coaching, rehabilitation, equine welfare or positions where my wider management and organisational experience would be valuable.

I love how individual they are, the different responses and the different behaviours and finding solutions to “problems”.

I fit in everywhere and will put my absolute all into any job. I bring energy, enthusiasm, dedication and a true passion for horses and sport. I have a huge amount of experience in a lot of sectors, a jack of all trades!

• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I’d like to be in a management position if possible, although I’m very happy getting stuck in on the yard.
