Experience with Horses
I’ve been around horses my whole life, from volunteering at my local yard to getting my level 3 diploma in equine management it’s always had a place in my life. I have experience in studs and vets when I worked at Tomlinson Equine with foals, weanlings, yearlings, brood mares and stallions and I also have experience with fit hunt horses when I worked 2 summers getting them ready for the season. My time at Hartpury College taught me all about horse anatomy and how to run a business. This is also contributed massively to my ability to take sole charge as a part of my training included yard duties where me and my class mates would have to run the barns independently. In the two years at college I rode twice weekly which improved my riding abilities to no end.
I spent six months at David Britnell Eventing once I started university after a gap year, this is where I further developed my technical skills in equine first aid, training exercises and challenging behaviours.
Following this I freelanced around my home county, did some hospitality and then returned to hunting on a private family yard where I had sole charge full time.
I am ready to return to a high level environment and am keen to continue my skill development.
Key Skills
I love working with other people and recognise the importance of a positive team attitude in the equine industry, I also love sole charge and can get the job done without aid.
I have experience in:
stud, vets, hunting, eventing, livery, natural horsemanship
I can competently administer equine first aid.
I am an accomplished rider and am particularly passionate about dressage but am confident with jumping too with experience hunting.
I am trained to a decent level at clipping, can plait confidently and have high levels of presentation.
Strengths and Weaknesses
I get along well with all people from any walks of life and can communicate well with my colleagues. I’m formally qualified to work with horses as well as having real life experience in many aspects of the industry which I think is a proven combination for a successful groom.

I love a routine and thrive in a controlled environment, this is what I most look forward to when starting a new job.
