Experience with Horses
I am a reliable freelance groom with experience across a variety of disciplines, Eventing, Polo, Dressage. I hack, school and have competed horses for owners. I have competed my own horses up to Novice eventing.
I have worked as part of a wider team, on a large professional yard with a focus on both TB youngsters, breakers and established event horses. I gained first hand experience of breaking, lunging, backing youngsters (on the ground assistance) and hacking fit event horses. I have ridden out on race yards, worked on livery yards and looked after horses while owners were away.
I have worked at racecourses understanding the operational management of a racecourse – including the high-pressure environment of the Cheltenham Festival. As well as assisting the vets on race days ensuring a high standard of care is carried out for the horses, before and after racing. Present in the event of an injury to a horse during the races or in the event of a fatality.
I am trustworthy, I have undertaken holiday house sitting being left of living in owners house, yard, care of horses and other pets.
