Experience with Horses
I am hard working, dedicated and have an avid passion for horses and their care. I have worked with horses for about 8 years now and am now looking to get back into working with horses after coming back from travelling Asia and the US. I have meticulous attention to detail so you can ensure horses will always be turned out to the highest standard and the yard kept tidy and professional.
I have ridden for two different racehorse trainers over the past two years so I am more than capable at riding fit and fresh highly athletic horses confidently and calmly.
Prior to working in racing I was head groom at a small livery yard for 4 years where I took on an abundance of different tasks, from riding for clients to general yard work, as well as being given the responsibility to run the yard while the owners of the yard were away. Whilst working here I was also tasked with breaking in a number of young and unbroken horses to be sold on, this was something that really took my riding and horsemanship to the next level and something that I took great joy and pride in, additionally making me a much more confident rider able to deal with any situation that may be put forward to me.
I competed for 2 years in Endurance riding where I rode my own horse ( I don’t have one anymore but did for a number of years ) and I also rode for another person as she wanted me to take her horse to the next level. Although never making it up to FEI level, it was always my goal before circumstances meant I had to sell my horse. I did however compete him up to open level where we achieved quite highly and represented our team at the inter regional competitions.
