Experience with Horses

I have experience as stable hand and groomer making sure horses are presentable, well and healthy and as I became more familiar with working with horses I began training them and breaking them in. When i worked in Libya I was in charge of 13 horses, all of which I trained and looked after. I was given the responsibilities of breaking in young foals and fillies which was an ongoing process that involves patients and trust. I transported horses to competitions and to be bought and sold and assisted my manager with purchases, I also worked as a jockey for my employer in Libya and entered races and show jumping competitions.

Key Skills

I excel at working alone and problem solving, breaking in and training horses of all ages, grooming and caring for Horses from the day they are born. I am excellent at caring for the well being of the horse and always give 100 percent to this role as I truly love it.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I enjoy the whole process from the time they are born, to caring for them as they grow, training them and making sure they stay in good health. I very much like breaking in horses and working on something over an extended amount of time is a very rewarding feeling.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I would like to improve my English so have a better understanding of the vocabulary used in the Horse industry along with being able to communicate with friends and colleagues with more ease. the admin side of things is something I would like to get better at. Keeping records online etc.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I am always learning and open to growing but I have also had very varied and valuable experiences working with Horses in Libya and on my journey to the UK. these experiences….not all with horses, have made me an incredibly determined, resilient and committed to doing my best and working on my career because it’s something I truly love and I believe I am good at.
