Experience with Horses
I have worked in the equine industry since i was 11 years old, when i started working at a riding school. Since then i have worked on a full livery yard, worked for a show jumping producer and been a Level 3 Apprentice to get my qualifications in Equine management and riding. I have done everything from normal yard duties, to breaking in youngsters to exercising 1.40 horses and everything in between.
Key Skills
I would say my best skills are clipping, organising the horses feeding (this was a main role of mine in my apprenticeship), getting them ready for a show and just the overall looking after of the horse. I am also an extremely enthusiastic person, who loves to get stuck in and experience new things and challenges.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses? I enjoy looking after them and seeing them shine in the competition ring, knowing i’ve put in some hard work to get them there.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve? My knowledge and experience in professional show jumping, as this is the discipline i would like to have a career in.
- • Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker? I am hard working, reliable, and i always make sure i do my job to the best of my ability and try my hardest all the time.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job? Experience of working at a really high professional standard. I would love for the job to include riding as this is the part i really love and believe i am best at.
• Do you need accommodation? No
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you? Nope
• Do you have any ongoing commitments? I have my own horse that i do not wish to move yards however if the right opportunity came up i would consider it.
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of? Not as of yet, however due to being the sole carer of my horse i would prefer to not work saturdays or sundays.
