Experience with Horses
In summary, I have some past work experience at a riding stables before I went to university however, my recent work experience is mainly retail and office based. I had riding lessons on a weekly basis from ages 6-18 and I loaned a pony for two years after that. Since then, I have ridden only intermittently when I have had the opportunity, but animals and especially horses have always been my passion and I am looking to refocus my career.
I completed work experience for two weeks at Lavant House Stables where I was completing duties such as mucking out and putting down new bedding, sweeping the yard, preparing feeds, preparing hay nets, providing water, maintaining cleanliness of the yard and tack room and storage areas, cleaning tack, turning out and bringing in from the field, tacking up, riding, grooming, bathing and braiding.

Riding all gaits, schooling, jumping, cross country, hacking, lunging, confident riding more challenging ponies.
I am approachable, professional, and reliable, with excellent communication skills and a true passion and love for horses and all animals. I work well under pressure to achieve deadlines and I have a desire to always keep learning and to do my best.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Sometimes I can put too much focus into one task trying to make it perfect, which means there is not enough time left to do other jobs to the same standard. I try to ensure to prioritise not allowing myself to work to ‘upmost perfection’, on each task but instead to ensure high standards that are both adequate and attainable, and allow me to have consistency in my work. I pride myself on my reliability, honesty and initiative. I am always willing to take on new tasks and try new things.
