Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

I have had a passion for working with and being around animals from a young age which began with riding and part-time roles at a local stable. While my professional experience is limited to mostly office-based activities, I take every opportunity to explore this passion as an aside to my core role and in my leisure time. My experience includes time spent on section at Whipsnade Zoo with large hoof stock; birds; deer and antelope and on the farm. In addition to this, I enjoy volunteering with RSPCA Blackberry Farm rehoming centre in my spare time. Duties covered include feeding, cleaning, mucking out, behaviour training and enrichment.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I am hardworking, determined and take pride in my work. I am a fast learner and can adapt to changing situations which means I enjoy taking on new challenges. While I enjoy working as part of a team, I can use my own initiative to work independently and autonomously when required.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I enjoy working with animals as I find that this can be varied, rewarding and, at times, therapeutic. Additionally, I am always looking to learn and believe there are constantly opportunities to widen both knowledge and skill set in this field.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I want to make the most of any opportunity to improve skills and knowledge while gaining valuable experience.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I have a wide skill set and a diverse background which means that I could bring fresh ideas and insight into a role/ team.

I would be open to a range of opportunities an any experience is welcome
