- Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have grown up riding horses on and off since I was wee. I have experience tacking up English and Western, mucking out, cleaning tack, preparing tack for Polo tournaments and exercising Polo ponies. I had my first Polo experience in New Zealand this summer and would love to learn more.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
Confident working alone but equally confident working with others. I can plait Polo tails, tack up for Polo, English and Western style. I am happy working on the ground as well as riding / leading ponies.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I just love being around them! They make me feel calm. Any chance I get to be around horses I take. I like the variety that comes with working with them too. I am interested in learning more about bandaging and other aspects of polo that I’ve not yet experienced.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
Always! There is so much I don’t know about grooming. I have lots of friends who are polo grooms but I’d love to experience it myself for the first time.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am committed, hard working, enthusiastic and compassionate. I put 110% in to everything I do and I always come to work with a smile. I like a challenge and am always seeking new ways I can improve.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I’d like to learn all things polo. I feel I have a basic understanding but as mentioned before I’ve got a lot to learn!
• Do you need accommodation?
Ideally, yes.
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
No.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
No.
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
No.
