Experience with Horses 

Hi! i’m talia. I’ve had experience on yards both in the Uk and abroad with a variety of horses from all sizes and temperaments. The yards i’ve helped out on range from performance and display work to high end competition yards. I have been both behind the scenes and partaking in a multitude of competitions and shows mainly dressage, showjumping and one day events. Living in the middle east for 3 years, i was constantly on the lookout for animals in need and had taken in 3 cats over the span of my time there bringing them in injured from the street and nursed them back to health with even one sending to the UK for a better life. I have also rescued an abused horse from a cruel endurance desert stable where over the course of 3 years i have slowly reinstated how it should be for him to live a proper life as a horse upon where he’s placed several times at competitions and is a dream to handle. Therefore, i always ensure the horses needs are met through kindness and patience.

 

Key Skills

I’ve learned some valuable skills working with horses with my main contribution being patience and remaining calm in all situations. I am deeply passionate when caring for any animal and will always do whats best for their welfare. I have experience mainly training horses and turning out for competition, also striving when working with others as i value teamwork.

 

 

Strengths and Weaknesses

• through my experience i’ve found that having both problem solving skills mixed with patience is so rewarding and is key into seeing horses blossom.

• i’m hoping that in finding the right job for me will improve my weaknesses as they limit to the skills that i am yet to learn!

 

• Employers should consider me when choosing candidates as of my devotion to animals rendering me as hardworking and dedicated to my passion of animals and my drive of compassion towards them.

 

Requirements

• My aspirations are to becoming an equine therapist or to work in the field of animal rehabilitation. However i’d be more than thankful for a job as a groom or rider to build on my knowledge and experience.

 

• I am based in cheshire in the CW/WA area though i’m more than willing to relocate to another area with accommodation provided!

 

• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you? no

 

• I’m currently in my first year of alevels though when i finish next summer i’ll have no commitments.

 

• As i’m only looking for a summer job, i’ll be on holiday august 8th-16th
