Experience with Horses

I have been riding since the age of 10 with my own horses over the years and have been a qualified working instructor & yard duties since 2020.
To date I have completed the following B.H.S Exams;
-Ride Safe.
-Stage One , Stage Two & Stage 3 in Complete Horsemanship BHS.
-Stage Two Teach & Stage Three Teach.

After completing my QQI Level 5 & Level 6 in horsemanship I progressed onto working Full time in an Equestrian Retail Shop Equipet and working part time instructing at The Railings Riding school. Since October 2021 Instructing & yard duties has been my full time job.

From June 2022 I have covered Assistant Yard Manager in Cherry Orchard Equine Centre as Yard Supervisor. Being in charge of daily equine welfare, organising vet/farrier etc, tack and hat checks, safety procedures, equine allocations and lesson bookings. Since then I am now full time instructor & yard staff who also assists the assistant manager with her tasks and takes the lead in the equine social media content for Cherry Orchard Equine Centre’s socials.

Key Skills

-Work exceptionally well as an individual and in a team setting.
-Timekeeping is mannerly.
-Tasks completed to the highest standard in an efficient time frame.
-Works well under pressure, for events etc.

-Can do all of the usual tasks, grooming, leading, mucking out, tacking up, lunging, bandaging, loading, riding, tacking up, clipping, plaiting, pulling manes, equine first aid.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

-That they are all individuals & each have their own unique personality.

-I love the animal so being able to spend time with them as a career makes my work enjoyable and makes me do everything to the highest standard.

Is there anything you’d like to improve?

-Being able to disconnect from work a little bit more.
-Improve & develop my managerial skills, especially in management of people.

-I have a very enthusiastic work ethic while maintaining good relations with my other team members as a young, active, fun member of staff.
-Being in the equine/animal industry is where I wish to progress my career. I am a young & ambitious woman who strives to continuous progression within my role.

-Currently working all evening shifts, so would like earlier shifts and less evening shifts. More work – life balance.
-Open to gaining new skills.

Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?

-I have a 7 year old TB Gelding who I would like to bring with me if the opportunity was there.
