Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

Years of experience competing as a young rider in South Africa. I was also worked on a stud and for a vets livery yard. I am currently on a mixed learning yard (college), working with brood mares and young stock, livery and riding school.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I am well rehearsed in all yard duties and equid care. I have happy to lone work or to work as part of a team. I am passionate about all animals and have animal welfare at my core.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I feel it is a privilege to work with horses and I particularly enjoy finding out what is holding a horse back from achieving its full potential and working to resolve the issue.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I believe everyday is a school day and I feel that knowledge should be kept up to day wherever possible.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I have years of experience and I am not a young child anymore. I have good attention to detail and problem solving skills.

Requirements

• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?

I feel it is very important to have good people around you with a positive attitude and I would like this to be the case in my next post.

• Do you need accommodation?

I have my own home, however it would be idea to stay where I am looking after the horses as often one needs to be on hand to care for animals late into the evening or early in the morning. Living on site will make this far easier.

• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?

I have a very friendly spaniel, almost a year old. She has always been around farm animals.

• Do you have any ongoing commitments?

I am currently employed but I am looking to see what vacancies are about.

• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?

no
