Experience with Horses
I have been riding horses for 15 years. I used to work at the riding school where I learnt to ride for around 12 years. Whilst there I was regularly mucked out, groomed, turned in/out & led rides out every weekend, I also taught adults & children how to ride. During this time I volunteered at a yard that focused on retraining & rehoming retired & injured racehorses. This yard also had other animals that I also looked after; including goats, chickens & a pig. I also volunteered at a riding school for the disabled, where I assisted both able bodied & disabled riders in lessons & on hacks. I worked on the livery yard my horse was based at, where I regularly worked alone. My last horse Nala was a 16.2hh thoroughbred x welsh x apaloosa. Whilst owning Nala I had to deal with the vet many times due to repeated injuries, resulting in numerous goes at rehab, meaning I have a strong understanding of bringing a horse back into work after an injury. I worked on a breeding & stud yard, I have experience handling stallions day to day & during collections. I have also helped with mares & foals, yearlings & pregnant mares & helped during AI of mares. During this time I groomed at multiple shows. I also did lots of groundwork & hacking, helping horses create an understanding of ridden life. I now have an irish draught called Guinness. I also have a 2:1 BA (Hons) in Equine Management from University Centre Myerscough.

Strengths and Weaknesses
I most enjoy riding & spending time with the horses in general. I also enjoy helping people out when they are having problems with their horses whether that be ridden or on the ground. Rehabilitating horses & bringing them back into work is also very enjoyable.
I would like to improve my plaiting & clipping skills. I would like to gain more knowledge in general & learn about lots of different disciplines.
I am a very hard worker. I always put the horses first & I will do anything to keep horses happy & healthy.
Requirements
I would really like a riding position. A job where I can gain more knowledge & learn new things.
Accommodation would be needed if not near home.
Space for my horse would be needed.
