Experience with Horses

whilst I haven’t spent my entire life with horses, the time that I have (10 years) is the best time of my life. In those 10 years I have crammed a lot in: riding, working the horse from the ground, and most importantly, noticing how they move and if anything is wrong. My primary experience is in Polo, but ultimately I would love to develop as a coach, particularly with RDA. I can ride classically as well as one-handed polo riding and I think this has enabled me to have very light hands.

Key Skills

Riding: for Polo (neck reining), classically

Ground work: Lunging, Long Reining – I would happily do these all day

Horse care: the horses come first, always

Yard work: I am a hard worker and yard tasks make the horses life easier

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

Virtually everything, especially working them, either under saddle or from the ground

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

Every aspect of my horsemanship – I hope that every day I can learn something new.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I have a very strong work ethic, and for me, the horse comes first. I live to work with the horse: especially riding and ground work. All the yard tasks are just part of life with horses and should be dispatched quickly and efficiently – as I have said above, the horse comes first.

Requirements

• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?

I would love to continue working with horses and becoming the very best I can be: be that in saddle, on the ground. I would love to become a coach, especially with RDA.

• Do you need accommodation?

Yes

• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?

No

• Do you have any ongoing commitments?

No

• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?

  • I would need the first weekend of September away
