Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have worked in my current role as a groom for the last 7 years, where I have looked after a range of horses from young stock to fit hunters. I have also handled mares with foals at foot and colts. I have experience with sole charge as well as being able to work as part of a team. I exercise the hunters before and during the season to build and maintain fitness – this includes riding and leading, lunging and use of the walker. I handle day to day care including; mucking out, feeding, turn out/brining in, and riding. I also coordinate with our full and part liveries to make sure their horses needs are met depending on their schedules.
I volunteered with the Wilton RDA centre for 4 years, where I took on a variety of roles. These roles included; getting horses ready for rides, managing and delegating to younger volunteers, working one to one with riders, mucking out and feeding round.
I have also worked with large shire horses and have done sole charge holiday yard cover.

The variety in the job role as no two days are the same when working with horses. I also enjoy being around horses as I’ve been around them from a young age

I am always looking to further my skill set and keen to take on new challenges.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
