I’m on a 0 hour contract at a yard however they are extremely flexible and if I provide good notice I would be able to leave

Experience with Horses

I have been riding for 7 years and for 5 of those I have worked weekly at a livery/riding school which within the past 2 years has turned into solely a livery yard. I have owned a horse for just over 3 years and have had hands on experience since the very beginning of my riding journey. I’m hard working and am always looking to learn new things and have been in many situations of making decision or having to spot, report, or fix issues whether thats ok the yard or with the horses.

 

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I am good at using my initiative and solving problems to ensure the well being of the horses and the yard stays the best it can be. I can work easily alone or with others. I have handled a range of horses from highly strung horses or young horses. I don’t have loads of experience with stallions or youngstock due to where i have worked however im very keen to change that and better my ability.

 

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I enjoy maintaining horses well being and ensuring they are happy and content in what they do. I also enjoy rehabilitation and helping horses to overcome injuries or any struggles they face.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I would like to improve on my riding and experience with a larger range of horses, as well as improving and expanding my knowledge through the whole equine world.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I am hard working and will give everything a go whilst always asking questions if im unsure to ensure the animals have the best care.
