Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have vast experience with horses i have owned them all my life. I have been solely in charge of the stable and paddock management and keep to a very high standard. The welfare of the horse is always my first priority and I have some tricks up my sleeve in equine first aid as well as training in that. I am also experienced with training horses such as difficult loaders or nappers and horses who are unwilling to hack alone. I have trained green young horses to become confident all rounders.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
I’m great working in a team but also intuitive and motivated when working alone. I have an affinity with horses and find that they are very relaxed in my presence, so young, green horses respond well to me and I find I can get the best out of them quickly and easily. I’m fit and have good stamina to ride multiple horses a day and muck out multiple stables. I just love it. I can also clip, plait, bandage as required.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses? The relationship with the horses, their wonderful intelligence and their funny individual quirks. I just love being around them.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve? Jumping in an arena is not for me, I’m top heavy so I get unseated with the quick changes in direction. I adore it but I have had to give it up after some nasty falls. I’m happy jumping out hunting or cross country but I don’t do show jumping anymore.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
My willingness to take anything on and my happy, positive disposition. I’m great to be around. Horses and people love me.
