I have worked in racing for 13 years now, and have been riding for 23 years now. I did have a short break to work in sales, but it wasn’t something that appealed to me however I would be open to admin jobs as well
Whilst working in racing I have ridden a variety of horses, I have however taken a step back from riding out recently as wasn’t enjoying it anymore
I have also previously been head girl, whilst doing that I liased a lot with physios, vets, farriers etc
I have been driving the 3.5t horsebox now for a few years and regularly go on my own to race meetings
With my own ex racehorse we have competed in low level eventing/dressage and showing showing seems to be our forte and we have really enjoyed this, going to London International twice
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
I am happy to work alone or as part of a team, and to take charge, or be under instruction
I have experience with mares and foals, helping out on the stud side of my current role when needed
I’ve done a small amount of clipping, and would be happy to continue my education on this.
Plenty of experience plaiting, however only with bands I would be keen to expand my knowledge and learn how to sew plaits
