Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

Passionate and dedicated equestrian with experience in a multitude of disciplines though primarily eventing, as in the past I competed up to BENovice and Pony Trials. A high enjoyment within producing young horses and ponies, and developing them from a young age. High standards of turnout and grooming, yard presentation. Also knowledgeable on feeding, nutrition and signs of discomfort in horses. Confident with all equines big& small, calm & chaotic, and all my work is grounded in welfare being my top priority and empathy leading all training and in hand.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I excel working alone and in a team, and am very flexible with all basic skills, and eager and willing to learn anything I haven’t previously done. I work best with young horses handling and riding, and problem solving is a passion of mine!

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

It’s been routine for me since a very young age, for me it doesn’t feel like a chore it’s a routine I’ve been in my entire life that’s most natural to me, the thing I find most enjoyable is either seeing the small wins along the way, seeing progress from as small as a young horse getting over a fear of fillers, all the way to years of hard work and dedication from an entire team getting a huge win at a championship. The reward is in the effort put in and I’ve always enjoyed that.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I would love to learn to clip! I haven’t yet clipped, and am keen to learn.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

Alongside my experience with horses I worked internationally at Emirates Airline, I provide a unique experience of working as cabin crew, adhering to strict regulations and operations and going above and beyond- constant changing time zones, schedules and a new team each flight gives me the flexibility needed to excel in the equestrian world!
