Future Requirements

• What would you like to do or gain in your next job? My primary goal is to deeply immerse myself in the equestrian industry and expand my knowledge. I want to dedicate myself 100% to horses, continue learning from experienced professionals, and build a stable, fulfilling career doing what I love

• Do you need accommodation? Yes

• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you? Yes, I have two dogs that would come with me: an Australian Shepherd and a Border Collie. Both are high-intelligence, energetic breeds well-suited for ranch environments.

• Do you have any ongoing commitments? Yes, I am getting married in February 2027, and my future wife will be joining me on this new adventure. Additionally, I own a horse boarding business back home, but it is fully managed and operating independently, so it will not require my physical presence or interfere with my job duties.

• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of? Aside from the wedding and honeymoon dates in February, I have no other holidays or trips planned

Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

I have 13 years of hands-on experience with horses. As a self-taught horseman, my passion led me to start my own horse boarding business in 2016 to be fully immersed in the industry. This venture allowed me to master equine husbandry, including nutritional management, administering IV and IM injections, and identifying/treating mild colic cases until the vet arrives.

On the ground and under saddle, I have successfully started several young colts and completely trained my own personal roping horse from scratch. I have a deep passion for Quarter Horses and an excellent memory for equine pedigrees and bloodlines.

Thanks to my experience, I was invited to consult for a large Andalusian (P.R.E.) breeding operation. There, I managed the logistics for over 300 breeding mares. I created a comprehensive Excel database tracking their physical locations (corrals), pedigrees, registration numbers, birth dates, breeding schedules, and sire matching. Personally, I am also an avid team roping enthusiast and love the western discipline.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I excel at daily horse care, herd management, and organizing tailored feeding and nutritional plans. My practical skills include handling stallions for live cover breeding, foaling out mares, and caring for newborn foals. I am proficient in ground manners, desensitizing young horses, and starting colts to ensure they become safe and docile. I enjoy exercising and conditioning horses under saddle—an area where I am eager to keep refining my skills. Above all, my greatest strength when working with horses is my patience.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I love the peace that horses bring to my life, being surrounded by nature, and connecting with the equestrian community. Horse people tend to view life through a unique, grounded lens that I deeply appreciate.

As for weaknesses, I am naturally quiet and reserved; I prefer to work diligently behind the scenes rather than being the center of attention. Also, because I am completely self-taught and have never taken formal riding lessons, I lack polished arena technique under saddle.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve? Yes, I am highly motivated to improve my riding technique and form. I also want to dive deeper into equine behavior and psychology, as well as learn modern, large-scale tools and strategies for efficient ranch and stable management.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker? Without coming from a traditional ranching family, I successfully built my own horse business and carved out a life in this industry through sheer initiative. I have a massive desire to grow. Furthermore, having spent over 7 years in a high-performance, competitive tennis team, I developed intense discipline, resilience, and a strong work ethic. I know what it means to show up every day and work hard, which I believe is the perfect foundation for a successful career in the equestrian world.
