I would also love the opportunity to continue developing my riding, although I fully understand that I would need to prove myself first. I would particularly like to gain further experience with competition horses and contribute to a professional yard with high standards, structure, and a strong team ethic.

Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

I have experience with general horse care and riding, with a strong interest in dressage. I am confident with standard yard duties such as mucking out, grooming, tacking up, feeding, turning horses in and out, and maintaining a clean and efficient working environment.
I have recently been working for international French rider Thomas Bobis in return for lessons on his horses, and I am just about to start at Dylan Deutrom’s yard as holiday cover. I have also previously worked at a sales yard and have done freelancing, which has given me experience in different environments and helped me adapt quickly to varying routines and expectations. I also regularly help my trainer, Liz Diegutis, at competitions and training.
I am keen to build on this experience in a more demanding competition setting, where attention to detail, consistency, and high standards of care are especially important.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

Reliable, punctual, and well organised.
• Confident with routine horse care and general yard duties.
• Good attention to detail, especially with turnout and presentation.
• Able to work independently and as part of a professional team.
• Calm, patient, and willing to learn.
• Strong awareness of horse welfare and daily needs.
• Good communication and a positive attitude under pressure.
• Adaptable, with experience in sales, freelance, and competition environments.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I most enjoy working closely with horses every day and helping them look and feel their best, as well as developing my own relationships with the individual horses, both in and out of the saddle especially in a competition environment where presentation and consistency matter.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I would like to gain more hands-on experience with competition preparation and the management of horses at a higher level. I would also like to have the opportunity to develop my own skills in the saddle. I am always keen to learn, take instruction well, and continue developing my skills.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

Employers should consider me because I am hardworking, dependable, and genuinely committed to a career in the horse industry. I have experience in different types of yards, I adapt quickly, and I take pride in being helpful, efficient, and easy to work with. But most importantly, I really want to learn and be the best horsewoman I possibly can be.
