Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have worked in many commercial and private facilities caring for livestock, teaching riding and horse care, managing the operation of the facility, and training and furthering both private and competition horses. I have also worked caring and training dogs for both personal and assistance related goals.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
I have strengths in detail oriented managerial tasks, customer service style teaching, building personal connections with clients to best support them in their personal goals, and strong fundamentals in training. I can body clip, braid, turn out, lunge, ride young and experienced horses, teach children, beginners, and more intermediate riders, handle stallions and young horses, manage and complete routine stable related tasks, and coordinate and manage staff. I also work well as a part of a team but can manage tasks and operations without direct supervision.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I enjoy the positive learning environment for animals and people alike. I also enjoy the kind and grounding presence of being outside and around horses.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I am always looking to learn new ways to communicate and train horses. I am also looking for new experiences to learn how to better teach a wider demographic of student and work collaboratively with different people from different backgrounds.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker
I believe I bring a flexible, humble, and personable attitude to any role I fill. I am also detail oriented and considerate in my execution of any role.
