Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have owned horses since I was a young girl and have worked with them on and off for around 10 years. I have experience at a riding school, dressage yard, riding pony stud and most recently a thoroughbred stud.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
I believe I am excellent with foals, after a couple of years working on a stud it is something I picked up very quickly and believe I am very good at, I also love it. This goes hand in hand with sales prep.
I am happy working alone when needed but I’m also an excellent team member.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I find it a very rewarding job, especially seeing how youngsters come on. But I also love being outside.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I’d like to become more confident in clipping, pulling, plaiting if that was required of me. Also more confident with yearlings and 2 year olds.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am an extremely hard working individual, I’m not afraid of working in all conditions. I love to learn and I’m always open to being taught different things/other ways to do things.
