• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?

I am looking for an opportunity to return to hands-on work within the equestrian industry and continue building a long-term career with horses. Whether that is as a show groom, general groom, or working alongside trainers, I am excited to contribute wherever I am needed while learning from experienced professionals.

My goal is to gain valuable experience in a professional competition environment, expand my practical horsemanship and stable management skills, and build lasting connections within the international equine industry. I am particularly interested in continuing to develop my knowledge of equine rehabilitation and physiotherapy, and I hope to combine practical yard experience with my formal education to become a well-rounded rehabilitation practitioner.

Above all, I am looking for a role where I can work hard, be part of a dedicated team, continue learning every day, and contribute to the highest standard of horse care.

• Do you need accommodation?

Yes

• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?

I currently have two pet leopard geckos, and if circumstances and local regulations allow, I would love the opportunity to bring them with me. However, I completely understand that different countries have varying import and quarantine requirements, and I am happy to make alternative arrangements for their care if necessary. Their welfare is important to me, but I do not expect this to impact my ability to relocate or fulfil my work commitments.

• Do you have any ongoing commitments?

I am currently employed full-time, with my role expected to transition to part-time in the near future. Aside from my current employment, I have no ongoing commitments that would affect my availability or ability to relocate for the right opportunity.

• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?

I currently have a family trip planned for September 2026 to visit relatives in Pretoria (South Africa). Other than this, I have no pre-booked holidays or leave commitments.

Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I am particularly good at turning horses out to a high standard for shows, maintaining and cleaning tack, and providing attentive day-to-day horse care. My background in equine rehabilitation and animal physiotherapy has given me a good understanding of rehabilitation techniques, equine movement, and horse welfare. I also have experience with natural horsemanship and enjoy building trust and confidence with horses of different temperaments.

In addition to my hands-on horse experience, I am highly organised and computer literate, with strong administrative, billing, and reporting skills. I work well as part of a team, communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, and enjoy creating organised systems that help work run smoothly. I take pride in being reliable, detail-oriented, and always willing to learn.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

What I enjoy most about working with horses is building a relationship with them and learning to understand what they are communicating through their behaviour and movement. I believe every horse has a voice, and I enjoy taking the time to listen, understand their individual needs, and ensure they feel comfortable, confident, and well cared for.

I find great satisfaction in the day-to-day care of horses, whether that is grooming, feeding, rehabilitation, or simply ensuring they are happy, healthy, and presented to the highest standard. I also enjoy being part of a team that works towards bringing out the best in each horse, allowing them to perform comfortably while always prioritising their welfare.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I would like to continue developing my practical, hands-on experience within a professional competition yard and further improve my grooming, stable management, and riding skills. I also enjoy learning and would like to stay up to date with the latest advances in equine care, rehabilitation, and technology. I believe there is always something new to learn in the horse industry, and I am committed to continually improving both my knowledge and practical abilities.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I believe I offer a unique combination of practical horsemanship, equine rehabilitation knowledge, and a genuine passion for continuous learning. I have been around horses for most of my life, have competed in dressage and showing, and have continued to build my knowledge through my Diploma in Animal Physiotherapy, rehabilitation work, and experience within veterinary practice and an international equine hospital.

I am not someone who is afraid of hard work. I enjoy being hands-on, take pride in keeping high standards, and understand that every task—whether mucking out, cleaning tack, grooming, or caring for horses—is important. I am organised, reliable, and work well within a team, while always putting the horse’s welfare first.

Although I know there is still much to learn, I am enthusiastic, adaptable, and eager to learn from experienced professionals. I believe my willingness to learn, combined with my rehabilitation background and strong work ethic, would allow me to make a positive contribution to any yard while continuing to grow within the industry.
