  1. Future Requirements

• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I would like to gain further experience working within a competition/livery yard. Working or managing a yard would provide me with more challenges and development. I have plenty of experience working with and owning horses, I would like to do this as a full time role now.

• Do you need accommodation? Having accommodation provided would be a bonus but is not essential. It would benefit both myself and employers if I was to be based on site.

  1. • Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?

I would like to bring my own horse, an advanced dressage gelding, and ideally based at my place of work.

• Do you have any ongoing commitments? I have competitions upcoming at the end of August, Area Festivals and Home Nations as stay aways. Hopefully will qualify for the Championships which will be beginning of October and then Associated Champs at the end of October.

• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of? Holiday booked 11th-14th September

Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

I have over 30 years of hands-on experience owning and caring for a wide range of horses, from young Warmblood/ sport horses to native ponies and Miniature Shetlands. Throughout this time, I have developed a strong understanding of horse management, training, and welfare, with a calm, patient, and professional approach.

I have produced my own young horses and have also successfully produced clients’ young horses for Futurity assessments and the show ring. My experience includes backing young horses, handling horses at various stages of their education, and adapting my approach to suit each individual horse.

My competitive background includes competing in British Dressage up to Prix St Georges level, representing at Home Nations level, and qualifying for and competing at the British Dressage National Championships. I have also competed successfully in county-level showing and showjumping up to Newcomers level.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I am confident carrying out all aspects of yard work to a high standard, including clipping, turnout and daily horse care. I take great pride in maintaining excellent standards of turnout and stable management, and I always place the welfare of the horse at the centre of everything I do.

In addition, I have bred Miniature Shetlands and have extensive experience handling stallions for both my own horses and those belonging to clients. I am reliable, knowledgeable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team, with a genuine passion for providing the highest standard of care for every horse
And as stated in the previous answer,

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

What I enjoy most about working with horses is simply being around them. I feel that working with horses is what I was born to do, and I find comfort, calm, and happiness in their company. I value each horse as an individual, with their own needs and character, and I believe that building a strong bond with them is essential. My priority is always to ensure that every horse feels settled, happy, and well cared for.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I would like to gain further experience and knowledge, work within a yard environment, as part of a small team and maybe even be sole charge/Head girl.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

Employers should consider me above other job seekers because I bring not only extensive practical experience, but also a genuine lifelong passion for horses and a strong commitment to their welfare. I am dedicated, reliable, and adaptable, with the ability to build trust with each horse as an individual and to provide the highest standard of care at all times. I take pride in doing every job properly, whether that is daily horse care, producing young horses, or preparing horses to a high standard, and I always work with the horse’s wellbeing as my top priority.
