• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?

Gain FT permanent, long term job with horses in oreder to refine my existing equine experience and continue to learn and adapt to ensure best practice.

I am also eager to work towards my HGV licence.

• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?

I would like to bring one 15.1hh mare and one female miniature dachshund if possible but not required as can stay with family.

Experience with Horses

Pretty much all of the jobs on my CV, (apart from the last horse job),  was alongside college or prior to that school. Currently working in an accounts office as an administrator. 

I have a wide range of equine experience across various aspects of the industry, this includes hunting, show-jumping, polo, stud yards (including working with young stock), riding schools and livery yards. I have worked with, ridden and handled many different types of horses, from fit competition studs to riding school ponies. I also have experience with many other types of animals including many different types of dogs, farm animals and pets.

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I have a positive attitude to work and like to get on with any tasks in a timely manner. I can easily adapt to any working environment, whether that is working alone or as part of a team. I have experience with horses of very different manners and am confident in my ability to adapt my response to the horse’s individual needs. I have also completed a City and Guilds Technical Extended Diploma (Level 3) in Equine Management in which I achieved DDM.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I enjoy working with horses as it can be quite a challenging job, which requires patience, strength and resilience at times, yet the outcome always proves to be worthwhile. I also enjoy being able to work closely with animals and watching them progress.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I would like to refine my abilities to adapt into a capable and reliable equine groom. This would include tidying my clipping and turnout skills to an even higher level as I have never had the chance to refine these, although I am confident that I would be able to do so.

I enjoy working in the equine industry as there are always things to adapt and improve on, this includes learning from other people along with learning from my own mistakes.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I am a very adaptable person and will complete the task at hand to a high standard in an efficient manner. I take pride in my work and will always present to the appropriate standard, I am also very resilient, I can stay calm in difficult situations and have learnt to adapt to solve the problem efficiently to limit further issues being caused where possible.
