Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I used to work full time for a show producer as head rider, for about 5 years. I rode away all breakers, worked in at shows, turned out etc. I then left to work in an office (legal service) for the last 4 years, which I just do not enjoy – I like to be up and busy! We have recently purchased our own stables at home, so I do offer breaking/schooling for clients, as well as working alongside a prolific Welsh stud where I break their 3 year olds straight from the field, unhandled. I have competed nationally to RIHS and HOYS in both showing and working hunter, including two Royal International wins and a championship, multiple wins and a championship at Royal Windsor and multiple top 10 placings at HOYS.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
Working with young horses, I am a very quiet, neat rider with light hands so I get on well with sensitive horses. Also good with plaiting and turnout.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
A challenge!
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
Knowledge and experience
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am passionate, a hard worker and never give up
