Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have extensive hands-on experience with horses and have been around them for most of my life. I have experience with hunting, riding young horses and breakers, riding out, general yard duties, grooming, feeding, mucking out and day-to-day horse care. I’m confident handling a variety of horses and am used to working independently, using my initiative and maintaining high standards of care. I also have experience within the hunting and countryside environment and am comfortable with practical, physically demanding work and long hours.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
I’m particularly good at handling and riding young horses, including breakers, and I’m a confident and experienced rider. I have strong experience with hunting and producing horses to a high standard. I’m equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team, I’m reliable, practical and happy to use my initiative. I’m also confident with general yard duties, grooming, turnout and caring for a variety of horses.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I most enjoy building a relationship with each horse and seeing them progress through consistent care and work. I particularly enjoy riding, working with young horses and being outdoors. I find it really rewarding seeing a horse develop in confidence and ability.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
Always room to improve on riding!
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I’m hardworking, reliable and genuinely passionate about horses and country life. I have a strong practical background, particularly with hunting and young horses, and I’m confident working independently as well as within a team. I’m not afraid of long hours or hard work, I use my initiative and always put the horses’ care and welfare first.
