Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

I am an experienced, highly qualified equine professional seeking a dedicated yard or groom role where I can apply my extensive practical expertise and academic background. Backed by a BSc (Hons) in Equine Science, Management and Training (2:1) and BHS Stage 1 & 2 Care and Lunge qualifications, my practical background includes mucking out, routine health monitoring, grooming, clipping, lunging, basic show prep, and safe handling across all horse temperaments. I have extensive hands-on experience running daily yard operations independently at Derby College Equestrian Centre—including field maintenance, basic wound care, medication administration, and supervising arena hires—alongside four years supporting riders with additional needs at Scropton Horse Centre.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I am particularly strong at working both independently and in a team, with extensive experience running daily yard operations and supervising students. My practical equine skills include clipping, grooming, hoof care, basic show preparation, lunging, administering medication, and safely handling horses across a range of sizes and temperaments. I bring strong skills in supporting riders with additional needs, customer service, and yard maintenance (fencing and field care). Outside of equine care, I offer strong time management and attention to detail from warehouse operations, along with bilingual fluency in English and Polish

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I like that no two days are ever the same when working with horses. Each horse has its own wonderful personality and character, which makes every day rewarding. I enjoy building trust with them and find great satisfaction in seeing their individual progress.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I’d like to gain more hands on experience working in a competitive grooming environment and learn from industry professionals. I’m also keen to develop my skills further by working in different settings and expanding my knowledge of horse care and preparation.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I’m a keen learner and I’m always eager to take on new challenges. I adapt quickly, work well under pressure, and I am self‑motivated with a strong work ethic. I’m very competent in both practical and organisational tasks, and I take pride in maintaining high standards of care in everything I do.
