Future Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I have spent 2 years in Cornwall to help my youngest daughter follow her dreams of getting in to Uni to study Animation which she has and has just moved to Brighton ready to start so now it’s back to my work. I have done everything within the horse world so I would like to find a nice job with nice people and lovely horses
• Do you need accommodation?
ideally for a while yes, I have just had a relationship breakdown and while he lived with me I don’t want to spend time at home anymore. I need to keep that house for my eldest daughter as she is in Uni in Falmouth but I would like to live away from Cornwall as soon as possible
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
just my Labrador, please. He doesn’t need to be on the yard, he is used to being a house dog who has walks
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
Just to my children who are both at Uni now
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
end of November for 4 days but that may change
Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have worked for people as a rider since I was 13. I have trained and competed to international level GP on dressage and CIC 2/3 star eventing. I have groomed and ridden for all the riders I have worked for and all yard work is taken on. I can clap, plait, turn out, clean tack, keep stables clean and tidy and manage schedules and vets
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
Kind of everything really, I have adapted to every yard I have ever worked for and all have been top level competition yards.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
The horses
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I’m always open to cpd in any way I need to improve
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I don’t feel that’s a fair question..I just hope to find nice people, a nice yard and nice horses
