Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

I have experience working with horses and around yard environments, with a good understanding of day-to-day horse care, handling and general yard duties. I am confident working independently as well as as part of a team, and I am reliable, responsible and willing to adapt to the needs of the horse and yard.

My skills include general horse care, feeding, grooming, mucking out, turning horses in and out, maintaining clean and safe yard areas, and handling horses calmly and confidently.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I have always been around horses and am confident with general horse care and yard duties. I have experience with hacking, jumping and basic dressage, as well as mucking out, grooming and plaiting. I am comfortable working independently, reliable and hardworking, and I handle horses calmly and confidently. I am also keen to learn new skills and happy to help with whatever is needed around the yard.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I have always loved being around horses and enjoy the variety that comes with working with them. I particularly enjoy riding, hacking and jumping, but I also enjoy the everyday care involved, such as grooming, mucking out and plaiting. I find working with horses very rewarding and enjoy building a good relationship with them.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I am always keen to improve my knowledge and experience. I would particularly like to develop my riding and schooling skills further and gain more experience with different types of horses and in different situations.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I am reliable, hardworking and genuinely passionate about horses. Having always been around horses, I understand that good horse care is about being consistent, patient and responsible, as well as enjoying the riding side. I am willing to get stuck in with all aspects of yard work, learn quickly and take pride in doing a job properly. I would bring a positive attitude, commitment and a genuine love of working with horses.
