Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I am a professional equestrian with experience in FEI endurance riding, show jumping and horse training. I have competed in endurance events, including CEI 100 km and 120 km competitions, and have experience in show jumping up to 1.40 m.
My experience includes riding and training horses, preparing them for competition, developing their fitness and performance, and working towards improving their confidence, responsiveness and consistency. I am particularly interested in the development of young horses and in helping horses reach their potential through appropriate training and regular work.
I understand the importance of horse welfare, patience, discipline and consistency in daily training. I am comfortable working in a professional equestrian environment and adapting my training approach to the individual needs and abilities of each horse.
I am interested in opportunities as a professional rider, work rider, horse trainer or competition rider, particularly within established equestrian yards, endurance teams or show-jumping facilities.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
My key skills include:
- Endurance riding: Experience in FEI endurance competitions, including CEI 100 km and 120 km events.
- Show jumping: Riding and preparing horses for show jumping up to 1.40 m.
- Horse training: Developing horses’ fitness, responsiveness, balance and performance.
- Young horses: Experience and interest in developing young horses and building a solid foundation for their future careers.
- Competition preparation: Working towards competition goals and preparing horses for demanding sporting activities.
- Horse handling: Working with horses in a calm, patient and disciplined manner.
- Adaptability: Adjusting my riding and training methods according to each horse’s temperament, ability and level of training.
- Commitment and responsibility: Maintaining a professional attitude towards horse welfare, training routines and the responsibilities of the job.
- Teamwork and independent work: Able to work towards shared objectives with a team while taking responsibility for assigned horses and tasks.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I particularly enjoy building a strong relationship with horses, improving their performance and seeing their progress through consistent training. I find it rewarding to prepare horses for competition, develop young horses and help each horse reach its full potential. Working with horses requires patience, discipline and dedication, and these are qualities I value in my professional career.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I am always looking to improve my riding technique, training methods and competition performance. I would like to gain further international experience, learn from experienced riders and trainers, and continue developing my expertise in both endurance riding and show jumping. I believe that continuous learning is essential for becoming a better rider and horse trainer
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I offer a combination of FEI endurance riding experience, show-jumping ability up to 1.40 m and practical horse-training skills. My background across different equestrian disciplines allows me to bring versatility and a performance-focused approach to a professional yard.
I am dedicated to horse welfare, consistent training and the development of each horse according to its individual needs. I am motivated, adaptable and willing to work hard as part of a professional team. I would bring commitment, a strong work ethic and a genuine passion for horses to the right position, while continuing to learn and contribute to the success of the stable or equestrian organisation.
