Experience with Horses
I started riden 2 years ago at a small yard near where I live. I learnt to walk trot canter on my own. Also taught me how to take care of horse such as feeding water grooming and leading a lesson.
After that I went to sparsholt college to study equine care L2. There we learnt how to manage a yard aswel as looking after the horses. We were also taught how to lunge, schooling, long raining, hacking and going to the gallops. I finished at sparsholt in June 2018.
After college I work at a small livery yard in tichfield where I help working with young horse while exercising and lunging.
Key Skills
– working in groups
– communication
– efficiently mucking out
– riding greener horses when needed
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses? – The thing I most enjoy is building a relationship with the horses getting them to trust you and handling them without the need of equipment.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve? – One thing I would most like to improve on is my riding and being brave while working around more high strung horses.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker? – I think they should choose me because even though I havnt got the most experience in the industry I’m egar to learn new skills and listen to advice I’m given.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job? – Would love to gain more information and skills working with horses. Also would love to learn how to showjump.
• Do you need accommodation?- If the yard is far yeah I would need accommodation.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments? – No
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
