Experience with Horses

Have several years experience working with horses. After being introduced at a young age it was clear my future was horses. I’ve worked since the age of 16 full time in the racing industry on a dual licence racing yard and a Pre-training yard.

Key Skills

I’d like to think my key skills of working with horses are very cx good. After 2 years of being head girl I like things done correctly and thrive from seeing things progress.
I have very good organisation skills from organising day to day running of the yard and staff and also managing the correct work load for the horses. Welcoming owners at the yard and updating them on how their horses are doing. Alongside the day to day running of the yard I love to manage the horses and getting the best out of them, clipping and pulling manes, attending any injuries and making sure they get the correct aftercare that’s needed.
Claying and bandaging legs, noticing if a horse is not itself. Eg, colic, lameness.
Working closely with the farriers and vets to insure the best care.

Ability to drive a 3.5t and a truck and trailer

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I just love the rewards you get when working with the horses, making them look the best that I can and seeing improvements of bringing on a green/young horses to the best it can be I thrive of it.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I’d like to improve in a different disciplines and see how other people attend to things and how a yard works.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I am very hardworking, I treat the horses like they are my own and want the best for every horse. Loyal and trustworthy.

Requirements

• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?

I’d like to gain more experience in a different discipline if I choose to do something other than racing. I love hunting, having being whipper in for a foot pack and having the passion of love for horses I’d would love to try a stud groom.

• Do you need accommodation?

Dependant on location on where the job is based.

• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?

Yes! I’d love to bring my very well behaved miniature dachshund Penny with me !

• Do you have any ongoing commitments?

Hunting on a Sunday with a Footpack. Season August to March

• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?

Holiday booked 21st -28th July
