Experience with Horses
I began working at a local riding school stayed there until going to college to study a level 3 extended diploma in equine. After that went onto do a season in polo. Currenlty in my 2nd season of polo. I have owned my own pony for 3 years now, I take him put to local shows.
Key Skills
I have experience with a range of horses from young to old. Over the years have dealt with many breeds however now solely based with TBs. I have the ability to work alone as well as part of a team. I am confident in taking charge of a situation if someone needs to as well as being able to be given a task and to get on with it to the best of my ability. I know how to drive and operate a tractor as well as the use of a roller and harrow. I am able to deal with multiple horses at once. I am also first aid trained specifically to equine.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
The thing I enjoy most about working with horses is the bond and respect that I can have with the horses. Each horse teaches me something different.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
One of the main things i am always trying to improve is my confidence in new situations. At times I let it get the better of me especially when I am alone.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am a hard working individual and I know I have alot I can bring to a job such as a friendly manner as well as a professional one. I will always do my job to the highest standard I am able to. Any horses wellbeing is the most important thing to me.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I would like the opportunity to gain my trailer licence in time. I’d like the opportunity to learn something new when possible, whether that be relating to the way of riding a horse or horse wellbeing (such as injury treatment)
