Experience with Horses

Following a childhood of riding lessons and loan ponies, I took a groom role on a show jumping & eventing yard when I left school gaining confidence and experience riding, handling and managing big fit competition horses.

Since then I have worked in many corporate roles, primarily insurance, up to senior management level.

After becoming disillusioned with city life I moved to Petworth in 2020 and began once more to indulge my passion for horses on a professional level as an extension of my dog training business, providing care & exercise for horses whilst owners were away on holiday. This has covered everything from Polo ponies, ex racers and big fit hunters, to easy family cobs and miniature ponies.

At present I have my own unbroken Czech Warmblood gelding, who I will be producing myself, and full time care of three cobs who I’ve care for over the last 2 years, as their owners live abroad. They will soon be returning hence my search for another placement.

Strengths and Weaknesses

I’ve always had a passion for being outdoors, and in turn, for horses. I’m practical, hard working and a fast learner who always enjoys a challenge.

Being calm and collected under pressure and used to sole charge situations that require me thinking on my feet has made me adaptable and effective in difficult or unusual circumstances.

As confident and capable as I am, I’m always willing to learn new skills, be open to new ideas & develop/improve those which I already possess.

Requirements

Within 25 minute commute of Midhurst (GU29)

Dog friendly would be a huge plus, but not essential (1 extremely well behaved Irish Water Spaniel)
