Experience with Horses

I have been riding since a very young age, attending pony club and clinics and weekly lessons growing up, competing my ponies unaffiliated in all 3 disciplines. as a teenager i helped out at a local yard, helping to break and back young horses, helping with the daily care and riding. i then went to college where i did a level 3 extended diploma in horse management and did my BHS  stage one and my riding and road safety. i worked at a local trekking/livery yard on the weekends and evening and looked after all the needs of the horses and liveries and also did some trek leading and some lessons in the school.

i have worked in riding school/livery and competition yard,  looking after all the horses daily needs from the riding school ponies, livery and the dressage horses. while i was working here i managed farrier lists and feed stock and any vet treatments etc, the work load of each riding school horse and horsing riders up, to planning the exercise charts for the liveries horses to fit the owners needs for the week. while there i taught daily lessons from beginners to more advanced riders from flat to jump, private an group lessons from children just  3 years old up to adults.  I also managed and run pony party’s and activity days and stable management lessons.I  have taken out rides from an hour to all day rides with all abilities. I worked with a small team and managed the staff when head girl was off or away with the competition horses, and have worked on my own when short on staff.

I have worked a season on a trekking/ rising school and livery yard. this involved the morning routine of the livery yard, then  catching, grooming and tacking up the trekking horses and taking people of all abilities out on riders from hour rides half days or full day rides. while working here i worked along side school groups who stayed for up to a week, PGL a summer camp for kids and family holidays. i helped out with the pony club on the riding school and attended to all the horses daily needs. while here i worked as a team and as an individual working alone.

I have done some part time work at a local stud, tending to the horses daily needs, handling mares and stallions. i have ridden out for a few people privately and done some yard work also.
