Experience with Horses
I have been lucky enough to have owned horses all my life and wouldn’t know life without them. I currently own 2 rescue horses, my beautiful 16hh chestnut mare who is retired and a wonderful miniature Shetland.
I competed in my teenage years but lost interest in that side of things and now am just a leisure rider. Over the years I have worked at livery yards, studs and a dressage yard, both with a team and sole charge.
I also worked full time as a riding instructor and groom at a very successful equestrian centre a few years ago and then returned there years later to run their office for a few months.
My main work experience with equines was working full time for 7 years at a RSPCA rehabilitation and rehoming yard. Rescue equines are my passion and I loved every aspect of it, particular the veterinary side of things as well as the behavioural work. I worked as a Groom there for a couple of years before moving up to the management team, I was Centre Supervisor and then interim Centre Manager before I left the charity.
I now work for the Blue Cross animal charity as Regional Horse Adoptions Facilitator for the South (yet to add this to my CV) and run my own self started pet care business, Love Lacey Pet Care. I offer dog walking, cat sitting and equine services and have been running for over 4 years now. I did this full time until recently when I took the Blue Cross job so I now run my business part time on the side.
I have gained my BHS exams up to Stage 3 and I have an NVQ Level 3 in Equine Business Management, which qualifies me to act as a Yard Manager for up to 7 horses, although I have managed a much larger yard.
I also specialise in donkey and mule care and have my Donkey Sanctuary Stage 4 certificate in Equine behaviour and management focusing mainly on donkeys.

Requirements
I have been wanting to relocate to the New Forest for some time after many happy camping trips there!
I have a beautiful, animal loving 8 year old daughter, a wonderful partner and 3 special rescue dogs who I would like to relocate with for the right position. My partner runs his own dog walking business which he’d like to restart in the area and although not horsey, he is learning and happy to help with any maintenance work/animal care etc. We would need to find accommodation in the New Forest so a live in position would be ideal at least for myself and my daughter and my partner could find a flat for himself nearby perhaps. We are open to opportunities to start a new life in the New Forest.
